The Calgary table tennis tournament returns on October 10 and 11, 2026, with two full days of competition at Superbounce Table Tennis Club in Northeast Calgary. Junior players, adults, recreational competitors and experienced tournament athletes are invited to participate. Superbounce Star Contender 2026 features rated singles, junior divisions, Open Singles and doubles events. Whether you are entering your first local competition or looking for another opportunity to improve your TTCAN rating, this tournament offers an event for your age and playing level.
In addition, the tournament is sanctioned by the Alberta Table Tennis Association and Table Tennis Canada. The latest available TTCAN ratings will be used when preparing the tournament draw.
For example, the Superbounce Star Contender gives Calgary and Alberta players an opportunity to compete against opponents with similar ratings and experience. Events range from UR200 to UR2000, along with Open Singles, Open Doubles and U2000 Doubles.
Junior players can compete in dedicated U11, U13, U15 and U19 divisions for boys and girls. These events provide young athletes with valuable match experience in an organized and supportive competitive environment.
Players can also connect with Calgary’s growing table tennis community, test their skills and prepare for future provincial and national competitions.
As a result, all singles events begin with a group round-robin stage. The top two players from each group advance to the knockout stage.
First, matches are played as best-of-five games, with each game played to 11 points.
Next, the Open Singles semifinals and final are played as best-of-seven matches.
Finally, the latest ITTF rules apply to all rated events. Events with fewer than four registered participants may be cancelled. Players who arrive more than five minutes after their event is called may be defaulted.
Moreover, registered players will receive a free gift. Medals and mystery gifts will be awarded in the rated singles, junior and U2000 Doubles divisions. Open events feature medals, mystery gifts and cash prizes of up to $500.
Meanwhile, registration is limited, so Calgary table tennis players are encouraged to enter early. The registration deadline is October 5, 2026 at 9:30 PM.
Therefore, the registry is close now.
